| As creative organisational manager of Red Teapot Gallery I bring
many treasures I have picked up along the way.
The
culmination of these life experiences – motherhood, travel,
and work, have woven a rich tapestry that now culminates in all
that is at the heart of Red Teapot Gallery. Before coming to Western
Australia 10 years ago, I worked as an anthropologist and community
outreach worker with both settled and roadside gypsies, West Indian
Women, the homeless, and people from all walks of life.
This for me, was the most interesting and wonderful insight into
what it means to be human. As a result I am passionate about people
being able to find their own way to sing their unique song, and
sharing their invaluable gifts with the world – unashamedly.
I hope that the art of Red Teapot can in some way encourage people
as they walk their own path. That they find within it something
that stirs their souls, and brings colour and inspiration at times
when life seems a struggle.
I
am also passionate about ‘living artistically’, not
necessarily in the literal sense as a creator of artwork but in
a broader deeper way – bringing a sense of the creative, a
sense of honouring to the everyday, to the mundane. I believe we
can all find the magic in, or bring magic to, the smallest or simplest
things. The work of Red Teapot aims to refect all that is sacred
and meaningful in our lives – our relationships, our life’s
work, our passions and our experiences of nature. Red Teapot wishes
to celebrate and honour these as the precious jewels they are.
